does such a project exist whose sole purpose is to manage the backend CMS of a site and not worry about the front end?

im in real need of something to drive the backend of my website but dont really wanna code something custom from the ground up...

doesnt anything like this exist that i can place behind my current site and just process the mysql stuff to pull content into my layout framework?

thanks

I don't know of anything. Every CMS I know of has a front-end of some sort. Although I can say that in 3 weeks I'm 98% done my custom CSS and I'm utilizing the Zend Framework. So if you have the time, it could be done.

* I was only working around 5 hours a day for 4 days of the week and maybe 8 to 10 on the last day. So it's not like I was working 24/7 to get it done.
