I've been into music lately while working lately. Mostly, I listen to it while I'm coding. For the most part, I listen to ambient or electronic stuff, with no words.

Funny how it gets you into the 'flow' and helps eliminate distractions. :)

What all do you guys listen to?

Here is my list
- Radiohead
- Explosions in the sky
- Album Leaf
- Lotus

I generally don't listen to a lot of music while working, but for some reason the best productivity boosting album I've discovered to date is Pink Floyd's "Animals". I can't explain what about it is different -- even from other Floyd albums -- that gets me into a coding groove of sorts. I also like listening to Sufan Stevens' "Illinoise" while coding, though it's not quite as effective as "Animals".

East-West by the Butterfield Blues Band

and other long mostly instrumental rock. Pink Floyd Animals is great! I also like Ravi Shankar, Canned Heat Refried Boogie, America by The Nice, The Gumbo Variations by Frank Zappa, Sweet Child by The Pentangle, any Lorenna McKennitt, CSN&Y Four Way Street album.

And lots more. I'm sure I'm dating myself, this is all pretty ancient rock :)

Drum n Bass is where it's at for me.

I love me some Logistics or DJ Marky while programming.

My iPod is usually on shuffle... plays Jazz, all kinds of Rock, Techno, varied Ethnic tunes... I like a big variety. Oddly, though, when I'm really into coding, I prefer to listen to Static X. Lots of grunting, growling and unintelligible screaming seems to be very good for coding. :)

I'm listening to the most humorous thing I've heard all week: me, a 100% American, trying to sing along with such lyrics as:
Jag känner en bot
Hon heter Anna. Anna heter hon,
och hon kan banna banna dig så hårt
Hon röjer upp i våran kanal.
Jag vill berätta för dig att jag känner en bot.

And no, I've never learned a single word of Swedish all of my life. :o
