Install PHP extension MySQL

I am trying to install OpenX and upon installation i am stopped becauase I dont have extension=mysql.so enabled. I ran a script to see what extensions are installed and MySQl extension is not installed. The php.ini file only referenced extension=php_mysql.dll but that is for windows machine?

Can you advise me how I can install just the extension.

I assume that your using Linux of some flavour, so it would depend on what distro you use, in Ubuntu you can just install the extensions you want through apt.
