Ws??.dll

I tried installing PHP4 on win 95 and got an error saying WS2_32.dll and WS2HELP.dll file not found ... I copied the files in the system directory but still no use.... any help on where I can download any patch or any solution to this problem ?

Hello,

i believe, this files is needed by tcp/ip - network. Did you install a network?

I had the same problem on one of my PCs even though TCP/IP had been working fine. I had to do the following to get Apache working (Just got it working about 5 minutes ago):
*Copied the 2 missing files from another PC. (Even after doing this, Apache would start and quickly end with a "make_sock: failed..." message in the error.log) So I finally:
*Downloaded and installed the Winsock 2 update from the following site:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/WUAdminTools/S_WUNetworkingTools/W95Sockets2/Default.asp

Thanks Brian for the info ... I copied the 2 missing files to the system directory but I would still get the same file missing error and Apache would not start still ..anyways I will donwload Winsock2 and see if that helps
