how to setup GD library for WBMP?

Hi all,

I'm quite new with PHP and would need some help on the following:

I need to develop a system that creates WBMP images and inserts text in existing images.

I believe I need to install GD library.
Is the 'php_gd.lib' the GD library?

I read in many articles that I would need to 'compile' my PHP to support e.g. JPG.
How do I 'compile' this with WBMP on my win2000?

Can I use ImageTTFText to insert text into the existing WBMP image?

I would really appreaciate some help on this.
