magic_quotes_gpc

I need to enable magic_quotes_gpc so that phpmyadmin works properly. Can someone explain to me how I can do this?

There's a line in your php.ini file wich says: magic_quotes_gpc = On/Off - Set this to on, save and play! ;)

I telneted in and did a 'whereis php.ini' and I got the response 'php:'.

I am new to linux... how would i change this file?

Hi..

Thanks, I changed my php.ini file but I can't FTP the new .ini file up. I get the message:

550 php.ini: permission denied.

I am using CuteFTP.

Can some help me with this hurdle?

You're probably not Administrator, thus you can't change stuff in the php.ini file. Talk to the server Administrator
