Outgoing Mail in PHP

I need to use my ISP's outgoing mail server. I currently run a linux box (redhat 6.2) is there a way i can send directly to my ISP's SMTP server because sendmail is waaaayyy too slow for what i have to do.

PEAR comes with an smtp class. you could try using that to relay mail thru your isp.

you could also install qmail as your mail server. yahoo, hotmail, xoom, etc use it and it works great for me. (its very fast)
