I'm (again) trying to install and set up mysql, apache and php4. I have installed the tar version og mysql to /usr/local/mysql and have also installed the RPM versions of apache and PHP4. Apache and php work fine together BUT php refuses to connect to mysql. I've tried a lot of the normal solutions to this common problem, but with no luck.

Do I need to tell PHP 4 the location of mysql? How does php know where the databases are?

HELP!

Hola!!
De hecho en PHP cuando tú lo compilas, debes de compilar un RMP que es específico para MYSQL. de hecho don 2: el cliente y el servidor. Eso es todo.
