Problem with syslog.c during compiler

I´m compiling php-4.0.4pl1 in Red Hat 7.1 with sybase. I have this bug:

PAT -DXML_BYTE_ORDER=12 -g -O2 -c syslog.c
syslog.c: In function `php_minit_syslog':
syslog.c:96: Internal error: Segmentation fault.
