Yesterday I installed a newer version of apache-ssl due to a recently published exploit. When I did this I also needed to get a newer version of php4, at least that's what debian's apt-get told me anyways. After I got the new versions and installed them all, php files on my server now cannot be displayed. I get the message: "do you want to open or save this file of type: application/x-httpd-php" does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Hello,

you should check if your httpd.conf file has:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

line inside. Probably when you were upgrading your Apache you overrided httpd.conf.

If httpd.conf has got this line inside then check using 'httpd -l' if you have mod_php4 installed properly.

Wojtek

I do have that line in my httpd.conf file. I don't think that I have mod_php4 installed properly. running /usr/lib/apt/method/http -l gave me:
100 Capabilities
Version: 1.2
Pipeline: true
Send-Config: true

how do I get mod_php4? I'm running debian, if I could get a package that would be nice. I can grab it from somewhere and compile it though if I have to.

Thanks
