I have ie 5.5 installed,with icons for ie5&
outlook exp.on my desktop.
recently i inadvertantly deleted the ie5 icon
from my desktop, resulting in not being able
to directly access the internet from the desk
top icon.I can still access outlook from it's desktop icon, and ie5 by right clicking
and choosing "open".My problem seems to be partly at least of"file associations"whidh i
am at a loss to understand.I thought of re-
installing ie5 but i am worried that i might lose my favourities and saved emails etc,.
Any solutions would be appreciated.

Use the IE repair function. Its under control panel, add/remove stuff, MSIE5 (not that but near) and sleect add/remove. Click the repair option on okay and let IE do its stuff. I think this was a little irelevant to a PHP site yes?
