Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : VFP 5 corrupted files
Hello,
Are there any known bugs of Visual Fox Pro 5 .FPT and .CDX files being corrupted when accessed using ODBC? A client program made in VB 4 was is used to use the ODBC connection to access the Visual Fox Pro Files. Can anybody help me?
Thanks

There is a limitation that VFP SQL statements cannot be longer than about 1500 chars long. But otherwise we are having no problems using VFP with PHP.
Normally we don't use master.dbc.

havent' seen this weird behaviour b4,
have been using vfp odbc for quite a while now...
the visual foxpro odbc driver is only supposed to access .dbc and .dbf files only..
any other details to spare?
Sorry for being unclear. You see I made a client server program. I used VB 4 to create the client program, ODBC, and VFP 5 for the database. In just a few months, some files were corrupted and truncated to a few kilobytes from 100+ kilobytes. What could have caused this?
Corruption of VFP files is quite common if your server crashes occasionally or power failures occur with no UPS.
In this scenario, regular scans using foxfix, a commercial VFP FPT CDX checker are very useful as they can repair most common problems.
