Uploading Images using FTP function

I have been trying to ftp images to my server but when i go to view them, the images dont open properly. I try to view them im photoshop but it gives an error about that it cant open because of number being less then 4. Using the ftp_put command I am using FTP_ASCII with out quotes around it since im uploading images but i can not get the images to be viewed in photoshop or even on a web page for viewing..

Any help would be appreciated

i'd think the command to use would be called FTP_BIN

is the file size the same on the ftp server as before its uploaded?
