I am having GREAT difficulty trying to set up MySQL with Apache 2.0.39 and PHP 4.3.0. Everything works BUT the MySQL. IT says that host 'localhost' cannot connect to this server. How can I fix this? I have the hosts file and it still doesnt work. IF you could help me, please email me

Mysql and Apache should be started as services !
