win 2000 is closing my .exe files??

When I try to start Apache or a ftp program win 2000 is closing them down. Win2000 says: "xxx.exe has generated an errors and it`s gonna be closed by Windows. You need to restart the program. An log error is being created". This is all it tells me before closing down my xxxx.exe files...help plz

Well, without trying to sound trite, it's Windows..... Seriously, it's likely that a service or loaded dll is interfering with certain exe's (like Apache and your ftp proggie). Solution? Most likely to reformat and do a clean install. Better solution? Setup a Linux box to do your serving at least (if you're not ready to go fully Linux). HTH.
