What kind of error is this: 1067

After I installed MySQL on Windows 2000 server...I tried to run it by: Net Start mysql

This is the result:

The MySql service could not be started.

A system error has occurred.

System error 1067 has occurred.

The process terminated unexpectedly.

What does this mean?

This error can occur if you don't have a my.ini in your C:\ directory.

PS google holds a sh*tload of info about this.

PS...this is a forum when I'm "suppose" to get some answers. I guess I was wrong.

Anyway, I did mess up the path in my.ini which cause MySQL not to start.

RE: What kind of error is this: 1067

I resolved this by putting the following lines in c:\winnt\my.ini

[mysqld]
basedir=C:/mysql
datadir=c:/mysql/data
skip-innodb

anything else such as

install
or
bind-address=...
or
port=3306

result in error 1067.

Thanks
Nasser
