Replication...

Can anyone teach me how to take a snapshot of the server i want to replicate?

Whole filesystems? or just specific dirs?

If it's the former
1) get a DAT drive and a tape
2) man mt
3) man restore

ideally to get an accurate snapshot, I'd prefer to be doing the backup in single user, not good for webhead though, for obvious reasons.

I just want to do replication.......

I need to snapshot the master's database if i want to do replication right?
