Years in the industry: Well I started looking at some PHP code in the year.. 2001? Maybe 2000? Don't remember.
Background: I love computers, especially programming and technical support.
Focus of work: Well, I'm in high school so this is a bit limited, but I work for my school district's technology administrator (helpdesk and whatnot), make house calls for computer support, and some website programming.
Which platform do you use: Develop at home on Windows, publish on the web on whatever Linux flavour my host uses.
Fav PHP editor/IDE: Either Notepad2 or Dreamweaver MX 2004 (just because I can setup a "site" and have it automatically upload)
What's your favorite PHP function/why? mysql_real_escape_string() - Just because it's a PITA to type with the length and all
Tips for the noob: Search the boards. I know, I know, it's a lame and overrused suggestion, but... *shrug*
Why do you volunteer your time as a moderator? Well, because I'm here a lot anyways. I love to help people, whether it's at school at the IT helpdesk or here at home over the Internet.
