Not in monetary means. I find it rewarding enough to be able to say I volunteer for one of the most helpful PHP communities I frequent

Anything else? Moderating/contributing at PHPBuilder definitely qualifies as time-consuming task involving a lot of thought... you make it sound as if it is something that should be done only during extreme boredom when nothing else can be accomplished.
