I've never heard of "PHP Triad2" before, and after a cursory Google search it appears to be yet another packaged solution for Apache, PHP, etc. - is that correct?

Have you considered ditching the packaged solution route and simply installing the pieces (PHP, Apache, MySQL, etc.) yourself?

Well for starters you'd need PHP, of course.

Since people commonly use PHP to develop web applications, you'd also want a web server; Apache is the common choice there.

Finally, if you do any DB work, you'll want to use the same DBMS as whatever your production environment will have. The common choice for this is MySQL.
