Apache Wont Start

I just installed apache 1.3.12 and php 4.0.1 with some help from an article which can be found at http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/PHP/SoothinglySeamless/. Everything compiled and installed fine, however when I try to start apache, I get the following error:

[root@LXDEV1 bin]# ./apachectl configtest
Syntax error on line 210 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/local/apache/libexec/libphp4.so into server: /usr/local/apache/li
bexec/libphp4.so: undefined symbol: gss_mech_krb5

has anyone encountered this before? will i have to recompile php? if so will i have to recompile apache?

any help is gretly appreciated. thank you.

RE: Apache Wont Start

Hi,

I'm having the same problem excetp I get the error when I compile php with IMAP. If I don't compile with IMAP, the webserver runs fine. Did you find a solution to this?

Thanks,
Ken.

RE: Apache Wont Start

Hi, I have the same problem. The only thing I remember is that I think after compiling apache with mod_ssl,php4 and some others I think it worked and the only thing I changed today is my imap server from rh6.2 to vimap because I'm hosting some virtual sites. But I can't remember exactly. After writing this I will install the original imap package for testing. If it help I'll write some short message.
