Todd,
Yes, that will install the server side components on the windows box, or you
can install from the web-based live installer.
In the interests of keeping this group on-topic, please direct any support
inquiries to Openlink via an online support case (free) at

Subject: Re: [PHP-DB] WIN/ODBC/Interbase
Andrew -
Please let me know if I should be directing these questions to another
individual.
I downloaded the zip file, "ntbrzzzz.zip". After unzipping it, I ran
the Setup.Exe. Is this the correct file to have downloaded? Am I on
the correct path?

Todd,
Our stuff comes as a free, nonexpiring download. The drivers are fully
functional but limit you to 10 conncurrent connections. Go to our site,
and
hit the 'product availability' link.
Assuming that Interbase is on Windows, and you have some sort of native
or
MS driver that you can create a DSN there with, you should install our
Multi-tier drivers, with the server side on the MS box. Don't bother
selecting any database when selecting install components on Windows, as
you
are using the odbc agent (odbc_sv) instead of a specific database agent
(e.g. ora8_sv). If your php is on linux/unix, install the client there,
otherwise on Windows, etc.
Once installed, test our Multi-tier drivers without php in the mix, just
to
make sure they are working :) You will need to add a DSN in the ODBC
Admin
Control panel on Windows, or add a DSN in the odbc.ini on linux/unix.
After you have verified that:
1. openlink is installed and working.
2. you have a working DSN on the Win box created against Interbase using
a
3rd party driver (call it 'foo' for this example)
3. set up a DSN on your client, ServerType = ODBC (Domain = ODBC on
Windows)
and Host = <windows box> and Database = foo (Name = foo on Windows)
We have extensive documentation both on our site and with the download,
that
gives examples of similar architecture.
We also have free support for evaluators at
http://www.openlinksw.com/support/suppindx.htm if you run into problems.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Andrew
