Maybe it's a bug in php and not in the docs? :) It seems /they know/ how
php should work, and if it doesn't it's a bug. :P

But serously, it could be dreamweaver parses it out, possibly when you do
upload. Or maybe they are assuming that php is sgml like and will deal
with that stuff (see above).
