At the beginning of January I sent a set of patches to PHP-Dev.
These provided a means for having *external* binaries run through
PHP with an exec() (or similar) to be run setuid using a modified
version of the suexec CGI wrapper. I also sent fairly full
documentation.
I stated my intention to do this on PHP user list on 19 November,
and you (Rasmus) asked for me to send it in.
I haven't heard *any* response at all. Did any of the core team get
a chance to look them over? Unless it generated an out-of-band
dispute about the future status of safe mode (quite possible I
suppose) it seems my submission vanished into the ether, which is
disconcerting.
I realise that you're all very busy, and this is pretty minor in the
scheme of things, but it would be nice to hear whether any of you
(a) like it/will incorporate it (b) hate it (c) haven't had time etc.
Regards,
Malcolm.
