Hey guys,
We intend to release the first, and hopefully only, release-candidate of
PHP 4 in about a week. If there will be no serious problems found in it
during the first week after it comes out, we'll release PHP 4.0.0 final.
What I want to ask each and every developer on board is to take a look at
http://bugs.php.net/version4/, and see if there's any bug that he already
solved, or that he can solve before the RC.
Also, please take a look at the MODULES_STATUS file, and add information
to it according to what you know. If you know about a certain module that
is not stable for 4, please write it there as well! PHP 4 will most
likely include modules that are not 100% usable and are in various stages
of beta (just like PHP 3.0.0 included beta/alpha code, which was ok as
long as it was tagged as such).
Thanks!
Zeev
