What do you mean by "can't"? There are functions in the Horde project's MIME
library (available from http://cvsweb.horde.org/ if you just want the file -
it's horde/lib/package.MIME.php) that do this, and are used in IMP to parse MIME
messages as complicated as the "torture-test" mailbox that UW makes available.
