    i don't think there is such thing. oracle does not certify
    3th party programming toolkits, do they?

    which particular one is missing? there's a lot of stuff which
    i never needed so i didn't implement the php-binding for it.
    but if you can convince me (or anybody else that is capable
    of implementing it) to implement more functions 'll surely do

    there is no such thing as an 8i API! there are new functions
    in 8i which are not available thru php -> so the right answer
    would be that php uses the 8 api.
