For the error messages regarding ./buildconf and ./configure
--with-newext....
It is due to my broken autoconf file. :-(
Sorry to disturb the bandwidth.

One other thing I changed on ./ext_skel script is
 tr a-z A-Z => tr [a-z] [A-Z}
on my Solaris2.7(Ultra I) system.
