Actually I could only run IDS 2000 in my Linux RH 6.x box that was just
released, so I don't know if may be due any bugs in IDS 2000 itself.

Yes. I had problems with INT8 in either PHP 3 and PHP 4 and LVARCHAR in
PHP 3, but now it seems your fix made these problems go.

I have also found a problem in PHP 4 that was due to a mistake that made it
crash. What I was doing was trying to get SQLCA for a result after I have
freed it. It was my mistake but it should not crash PHP. Only PHP 4
crashed. PHP 3 output an error pointing that the result identifier was
invalid.
