Good I didn't comment on OpenSSL earlier then (: After what I've heard,
SSL or TLS as it's called now, is supportet by the OpenLDAP 2.0 API. So
I would guess that you specify that you want to use OpenSSL when you
compile the OpenLDAP API. I've also heard that the SSL support is
completely transparent to the applications using the API, but I don't
know.
I'm going to look into this later on, I need this myself for some
project where the Oracle SDK is not a choice.
The alternative until then is to use stunnel. It has worked quite well
for me, but it'll be nice to get rid of it anyway (:
