Re: [PHP-DEV] Content of this list??? From: Garret Thomson (gthomson <email protected>)

This brings up an interesting point however.

I've been having a hell of a time finding a forum in which to discuss the development of
extensions in C for php. The php-dev list is, of course, geared towards the development of
the core and standard modules, where the coding and discussions directly benifit the php
community as a whole. But it would be nice to have a list/forum in which to discuss our
own experiences/problems in developing extensions to php. Ie, the outcome of my
development may not benifit anyone else directly, but I think the ability to extend php
with C is more of a selling point than many people realize. (For instance, I'm developing
a module which will talk to our CORBA servers for reporting/admin through php ... )

Maybe this is because there is no clear community of support for people who want to use
the extensibility of php /w C as middleware, glueing front ends to backends? Anyhow, I may
be wrong .. is there already another list that facilitates dicussion of the type I'm
referring to?
