As I've heard, the actual XML-RPC implementation is not
very fast. A built in XML-RPC communication interface
would be far better.

That's a four letter word.

Even if you try to achieve a permanently running PHP
application, it can't _easily_ communicate with other
running PHPs.

As Zend Technologies was so disappointing at the
PHP conference last week, we wanted to know where
PHP's further steps in the future will be. It should
be logical to do the steps into a full application
server.
