We had a press conference on the PHP congress, attending
the organization team, Tobias Ratschiller and some guys
from the press (mainly iX and c't. every IT business
man reads those magazines). We mainly came to the point
that the next steps PHP _has_ to go (to be widely accepted
by those business people from old economy to new economy - yes
I know, you can do large projects with PHP, but also there
are large projects or "markets" where PHP lacks many features)
is to become an attendant for the business community.
Driving PHP to a real application server would be one
of the major points where business people say "Our project
is so large, we need an application server... mhm, Zope,
WebObjects, what can we else choose? Ah, PHP, flat learning
curve, easy to implement, great app server, let's choose it".
