Ok. It is a kludge, but it does make the present versions of these
functions work better at this moment. I am not looking at my patch as
something to keep long term (maybe a day or two :)) but only as a
temporary fix.

Thanks for the information from Jani and yourself about the situation. I
appreciate it.
