following this discussion I fully support Kristians point. In
my opinion even today there's a huge demand for some kind of
application server: Just look at Microsoft's .NET strategy:
successfully integrating Application, Transaction Server
into ASP and adding useful features like WebForms they have managed
to get themselves prepared for the upcoming need of Web Applications.
As far as I can say I consider PHP as a powerfull oponent to ASP+.
The integration of an Application server like Kristian described
would heavily support the reasons PHP is used for developing
high end applications and e-commerce shops in future. From my
point of view PHP can be expanded to become much more than a
scripting language used to create "dynamic web-pages" ...
