Doh!

I stepped through in the debugger, and the post from the phorum page worked
ok.
So, I stopped the debugger, restarted the w3svc and tried again outside the
debugger. This time the post worked perfectly.
Luckily, I haven't got much hair to tear out!

I'll keep playing and see if I can get something to fail consistently.
