I have the release candidate here, but I didn't compile/install it as I saw
that the error was still in it. At the moment I'm using the CVS Version and
my PDF-using scripts work pretty well with it.
I'm willing to install the RC, but I see no purpose - it's broken...

As I was following your discussion on php-dev it became obvious that there
are too few testers for the PDF functionality, so if you need one just
scream :-)
