Don't know wether you have already done that or not...but take a look
at the file with the php-code with a hexeditor.
Once on the mac and once after it has been put on the linux-host.
Is there seriously just a \r as a linefeed? (how does output of cat 'file-with-phpcode'
look like?)
These are just a few guesses, we had some serious problems with other things and
linefeeds (in a heterogenous env.).
