[PHP-DEV] Bug #11614: ociplogon always reopens a new connection From: boltthrower <email protected>
Date: 06/22/01

From: boltthrower <email protected>
Operating system: windows 2000
PHP version: 4.0.5
PHP Bug Type: OCI8 related
Bug description: ociplogon always reopens a new connection

<?php
$conn = ociplogon('user','pass','testdb');
echo "Server Version: " . OCIServerVersion($conn);
?>

reloading the same page I get ever more connections;

you can check it with:
select * from v$session where status ='ACTIVE'

-----------------

oracle version is:
Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.6.0.0 - Production
With the Partitioning option
JServer Release 8.1.6.0.0 - Production

web server:
Apache 1.3.12, with php running as a module

the only active module in php.ini is oci8.dll;

-----------------------

(
the php manual, chapt.22 says :
When a persistent connection is requested, PHP checks if there's already an identical persistent connection (that remained open from earlier) - and if it exists, it uses it. If it does not exist, it creates the link.
)

is this related to apache's multithreaded behaviour on windows?
