I have to agree with Rasmus here, having spent many hours trawling through
the manual errata One of the main things I find are people asking for more
indepth descriptions of how functions work, a tutorial of what this does, a
more indepth example.
Personally I dont think the manual is the place for this either but as
Zend.com phpWizard.net phpbuilder.com etc have proved there is a need for
these more indepth examples/tutorials, perhaps we should look at integrating
some of these articles into a "book" and referece it from the manual, now
these would need to be placed on php.net (Hopefully along side the current
manual) and not left on their home sites or we will end up with lots of
404's. I personally feel we should not ignore the feedback we have via the
errata and that feedback is the manual is lacking in indepth discussions of
usage.
Anyway just my $0.02
Also perhaps we should try and get as many as possible of these undocumented
functions documented before investing hours into somthing that is not 100%
necessary but "would be nice to have". There are only so many hours in the
day and lets get the essentials done first or the latter is pointkess.
