If it is going to be a unidirectional update, i.e. you will only read
from the repository, just follow the info in: http://cvs.php.net

The book in cvsbook.red-bean.com is also a good one for CVS. I bought
the book after reading it on-line, more portable.

If you want to contribute writing documentation, then look at the info
in: http://www.php.net/cvs-php3.php

Check also the PHPDOC mailing list archive, because there are already
people working on the RTF, PDF, etc. formats:
