The docs are first converted to MIF (FrameMaker Interchange Format), then
given the finishing touch in FrameMaker, printed to a PostScript file and
finally run through Acrobat Distiller. Mostly closed source & commercial
tools, so it's not an alternative for most people/projects. It's just that
I have a background in book publishing industry and graphic design, so I
have still very good relations with people who have these tools available
and can use their office and machines at evenings.
