Hi there,
in order to give back to the community I checked out the
phpdoc CVS tree, and started translation to Czech. However,
I'm concerned with a few issues that might arise:
1/ What representation of >ASCII127 characters should I use?
HTML/XML entities? Use of named entities in Spanish and French
translations suggests so, however, in the Hungarian
translation, literal representations of accented characters
are used.
2/ Will files saved with win-1250 (I'm on NT 5) be a problem?
As for other things:
1/ I'm not familiar with DocBook etc, so any hints as to how
to set up my machine so that I can build the manual to see if
I didn't break it would be welcome.
2/ I translated functions/dir.xml. However, there's no exact
counterpart to 'handle' (that I'd know of, anyway) in Czech.
I could use 'descriptor', 'resource', or 'stream', as these
can be directly/easily translated to Czech.
Which one would be the most appropriate?
And, of course: I could pro'lly make use of a CVS account. :)
