Sorry for my fault, but in the german translation of the documantation
the argument [string charset] for htmlentities() is not listed.

sure it does. you just have to specify the right character set.
(probably iso-8859-15.)

htmlentities() does not convert the euro-symbol (€) to &euro;

I don't know if this is a bug or a missing feature but htmlentities()
should do so.
