Commits are usually done on the Php-lib repository that is the unstable
one. Some maintaining is occasionally done on the stable tree.

The problem with version 8 is that it takes lots of time to prepare and
pack it. PHPLib has reached huge reputation due to it's stability and
documentation. A new version means:

- cleaning up new code
- do some quality tests
- adding documentation (hmmm, no docs for IT[X] yet...)
- packing it

Kristian is currently busy with courses and a big intranet project. I'm
busy as well, IT[X] is just a side effect of another project.

Ask the phplib community to commit PHP4 native session support for the
PHPLib and version 8 might appear on the horizon. I don't know if Kris
or anyone else is working on this.

The PHPLib usually gets new features if one of us NetUSE guys needs a
new feature ;-). But PHPLib is more than NetUSE. Others have added major
parts, think of Sascha Schumann who did a great work on the session
functionality to name only one.

So when you ask about new developments I can only tell you what I'll
provide in the next time: new forms. I don't know when the work on it
will be finished and I don't know what others will contribute to the
Lib, but I do know that the PHPLib is still alive.

Ulf
