Is there any research done on this yet?

I am busy porting our site and tools, using some PHPLIB bits, to PHP4 and
'harvesting' reusable components. I still have to start on the PHPLIB bits
so might have a look at the session stuff, but ...
like for most of us in this business - there is lots of work and pressure.
So if things work ... leave them working ...

Does anyone know where the 'bears on the road' are expected in porting to
PHP4 native sessions.
