I might add a not here. I would never ever use a language like PHP for a
proffessional project since it is open source. This has the implication
hat you can't sue a company for an incompatibility or bug issue like you
can when you have the advantage of a trusted company behind the product
like MS who developed the lovely Visual Basic.
You could for example try suing MS for caching Pages in IE olthough the
specification tells you a different story and your Webapp breaks becouse
of that. And think of the danger of secret passwords/keys that would allow
someone enter your site from a backdoor. Yes, since everybody has access
to the source code this would be possible! Imagine that! No, no, I would
rather use cobol which was designed for programming high quality and
proffessional business applications like you wan't to implement.
What exactly is your definition of proffessional? Professional
(conceptual) design of an application or just the fact that you get payed
by a company? Is a non-payed project not proffessional? Think about this.
PHP is just a tool. It might fit your needs or it might not.
Proffessionality is not a need, it is just another word for "I know what
I'm doing and I have a goal". Ask specific questions about your needs
in a way we can answer and we love to give you a specific
answer. E.g. speed is not specific. Or can you tell me how much speed ASP
has?
