The good people on this list, and other lists, will be much more likely to
help you if you stick to the following rules:

- ask a question that is relevant to the list (none of yours are, even
remotely). This involves a modicum of research into what the list is about.
- ask specific questions, and keep your questions short. Preferably, only
ask one or two related questions per thread, it helps to keep the threads
clean.

Regarding your questions, may I recommend that you contact your hosting
provider and ask them your setup questions directly. If you do not get
answers from them, may I suggest that you find a host who is more
supportive.

You may also want to visit O'Reilly's bookstore at www.ora.com and avail
yourself of some of their excellent titles on cgi programming, apache and
unix system administration. Amazon is another good place to find general
knowledge resources. If php is what you are interested in, Wrox has a
decent introductory book called 'professional php programming'.
