[phplib] new install and browser refresh From: Jim Weathers (Jim.Weathers <email protected>)

Hi:

I'm having a problem with the install test index.php3 (and it's kin). Neither
IE5 nor Netscape will show an incremented counter unless I erase the cache.

The setup- I'm running Apache, php and the browser on the same WinNT box,
and MySQL on a separate box running FreeBSD. The reason for running like this is
getting myself over the php and phplib learning curve.

I've run the little script under 'Checking database connectivity' in the doc, and
it seems to show the correct stuff:

user_id username password perms
c14cbf141ab1b7cd009356f555b607dc kris test admin

Running showoff.php3, I get the login prompt with input areas for username and
password, but after entering the kris/test pair, I see no change on the page.

Cookies are turned on for both browsers. I'm stumped.

I'm fairly certain that phplib is working, but just don't get the changes displayed.

Indeed, for index.php3, after hitting 'Refresh' a few times, clearing the cashe, then
reloading again, I see a well-incremented hit counter.

What have I missed? Am I being foolish trying to run this rig on WinNT? Should I just
give up and go sit on the beach for a week?

thanks,
jim.
