I have been trying to get PHPLIB going under Mandrake 7.1. I installed
Apache 1.3.12 clean and I disabled the apache that came with the
distribution. I then installed PHP 4.0.1 and the Zend Optimizer. I got it
running fine. I then downloaded the latest phplib from cvs and tried to
install it. Everything seemed to go fine. I am running mysql on the backend.
With the CVS version of phplib, I got the error: DB_Mysql cannot extend
non-existent class DB_Generic_Sql (db/db_mysql.inc). I couldn't figure out
where DB_Generic_sql was installed.
I then tried phplib 7.2c. I installed a new database on the db server, and
changed the prepend.php3, local.inc, and php.ini file. The 7.2c worked fine
on displaying the intro page, and keeping up with session data. However, it
doesn't seem to be able keep up with logged in users. I have tried both
cookie and get mode on session tracking. The get mode does add in the
session tracking to the URL.
When I click on the login example, I get the login page. I then enter the
userID and password, and I am kicked back to the index.php3 page.
And to think I was able to get phplib to work under IIS5 and MS Access.
